Most difficult career choices you will ever make
One of the hardest choices one can ever make, if not the hardest choice, is choosing one’s occupation. I mean in today's world, under enormous societal pressures, one must choose correctly. With all the information in the world at our fingertips, we definitely ought to choose correctly, right? Wrong.
Having studied statistics and data for a long period of time and cross-comparing occupations with one another, I came to one conclusion. It is that your mileage may vary. Everyone has a different experience from inception, from studying/learning the craft to actually implementing the work and being compensated for it.
Let’s begin by setting the record straight. Profession, Vocation, Passion, Mission, what’s the difference? It seems to be all one and the same. For starters, at the very least we must define those terms and distinguish the differences.
Profession is a combination of something you are good at or can potentially become good at quickly (within a reasonable amount of time) and something that you can be compensated for. It is a feeling of satisfaction and achievement. The latter is a feeling of comfort and contentment.
