Ladies and gentleman, the future of manufacturing is here. Behold, the next industrial’s revolution 4.0 has already arrived. The capabilities of 3D printing in the past decade have drastically improved, while the cost of 3D printing due to technological advancement in combination with demand has greatly increased. These improvements have allowed for what we know today as the latest 3D printing technology, what once was called Stereo-lithography.

From cars to buildings to key-chains and phone cases. I can clearly envision a nearly fully customizable product supply chain using 3D printing. In fact, I can foresee 3D printing becoming so mainstream that it would be the equivalent of personal computers (PCs) that are household items now at every home. Moreover, 3D printing will be leveraged not just by makers and enthusiasts, who I should thank for being the early adopters of this technology, but also by everyday people. You and I. As the world is turning digital slowly one byte at a time, there will be a lot more transparency in small scale prototyping and manufacturing methods for simple to make parts. There are great companies out there that are also transforming the Computer Aided Design (CAD) industry and even creating a repository (online storage) for these files. companies such as Dassault Systemes (known for SolidWorks CAD software) and Autodesk (known for AutoCAD) are trying to pivot and…
